That was too close

The morning after Layla sat up on the bed and yamned.
She looked over at Ty's side, but he wasnt there.
"Not again..." she thought while getting dressed.
It knocked on the door, and in came Ty with his arms filled with breakfast.
"I see you're up"
He smiled.
Thats smile that would make her knees weak.
"Yeah, I am..."
They ate up the breakfast and checket out, and they were off again.

This time they stoped in a small town, not that far from Norfolk.
Ty said he would go get some new supplies for their trip, now since he had got a passenger.
As Ty walked away towards the grossary Layla sat down at a café.
She listened at the music that was playing on the radio, until suddenly the news appeared.

"A young girl ran away two days ago. The police is looking all over for any news about her. Her name is Layla Wright, age 17, brown eyes and lightbrown hair. If you have seen or heard anything about this girl, the police would appriciate if you gave them a call..."

Layla freezed when she heard the message.
She ran towards the grossary store.
Half way there Ty met her, he was exhausted.
"On.. The.. Radio... They.. They are looking for you..."
She took a deep breath.
"I know! We have to leave NOW!"
People around stoped in they're actions to see what was going on, but Layla and Ty was already on the run again.

As they passed the café they heard the news again.
"...Her mom will give who ever finds her a reward... $100!"

Ty started the bike and they were off again.
They didnt stop until they were sure there was no people around.

Layla was shocked.
"I just cant believe it..."
Ty held his arms around her.
"Its okey... Its okey..."
Layla gently pushed him away.
"No... I mean.. She never cared before... Why now?"
Ty looked at her.
"Maybe.. Deep down inside.. she realized that you're all the she have, and that you mean alot to her."
Layla sat down on the ground.
"Yeah... But... She have had me for the last 17 years... And couldnt have cared less about me and my life..."
"I don.."
Both looked up. They coud hear sirenes.
"Oh no! They have found me!"
Layla walked back and forward.
"What are we gonna do?!"
Ty grabbed her arms and looked in her eyes.
"I wont let them get you, I promise!"
The noise came closer and closer, and shortly an officer stood infront of them.
"Names?"
Layla looked at Ty.
"Ty Adams, and this is my little sister Hannah Adams"
"Have you heard anything about a girl named Layla Wright?"
"Nope, never heard about her"
"Okey, how about you Hannah?"
"Not what I know of..."
The police looked at them with a suspicios look in his eyes.
"Do you have a license for that?" pointing at the bike.
"Of course!" Ty took out his license.
"And you young lady, do you have any ID?"
"No sir...Im afraid I lost it..."
Layla was so afraid that she was shaking. Ty held her closer to calm her down.
"And how, if I may ask, is that possible?" the officer looked annoyed.
Ty answeard.
"You see... We're running pretty fast on the highway, and sometimes we lose something along the way.. I guess she just didnt have it safe in her pocket?"
He looked at her, and she shook her head.
"Thats right, I will get a new one next time I'm in town... Right now we're going to see our cousins..."
"And they live....?" it was clear that the officer didnt wanna belive them.
"They live in Charlottesville, further north..."
The officer shook his head.
"Fine... If I see you two again, make sure SHE have an ID! Okey?"
"Yes, sir!"

"That was close..." Ty said. "Too close..."

Dream On Layla, part 5

Lost and Found

"Ty?!"
Layla felt the panic choke her.
She had known Ty in a little less than one day, but she could already feel the lonliness when he wasnt there.
She stepped out of the tent on wobbly legs, the night had been very uncomfortable.
She scanned the place, trying to maybe find Ty sitting on his bike waiting for her to wake up.
But there was no bike, and no Ty.
"Where could he be?" she thought while walking around "he could atleast have told me goodbye...."
She sat down on the grass and started to cry.
She heard footsteps.
"Is it me you're looking for?"
She looked up.
"I thought you where gone..."
Ty laughed and smiled that smile she loved.
"Naa.. I just had to put some gasoline in the tank."
"But why didnt I hear you coming with the bike?"
Layla looked a bit confused, coz she was quite sure that she would have heard him if he had the bike.
"I had to leave it on the gas station, its just a fifteen minutes walk away from here."
"Oh, well then we better take down the tent and get going"
Ty nodded and they started to pack.

Half an hour later they where ready to go.
When they arrived at the gas station the bike was ready.
"Okey, we better go." said Ty "I want to get to Richmond as soon as possible"
"Why?"
"I heard they have a really nice cheap motel there. And I thought it would be nice to sleep somewhere else." he laughed "I heard you last night... The tent wasnt that comferteble, right?"
She laughed too.
"Haha! Not really"

They hopped on the bike and they were off again.

The ride was longer then Layla thought it would be.
Richmond wasnt that far away? Or was it?
They only stoped a few times on the way.

When they finally got to Richmond it was late, really late.
The sky was filled with beautiful shining stars, and a huge moon.
"Its beautiful..." Layla whispered.
Ty didnt hear her.
"Tired?" he asked.
Layla yawned.
"Naa...." She yawned again "Not tha much..."
"Haha, you cant fool me!" he laughed "Lets go in and see if they have any free rooms"
They went inside, and Layla looked all over.
It was a nice place, just as Ty said.
"One room with two beds, please" Ty said to the receptionist.
"One second" the receptionist said.
The receptionist who was a young dark-haired woman looked at the computer screen.
She looked up.
"Im sorry, theres only one room left, and thats with a double bed."
Her eyes went from Ty to Layla, and then back to Ty.
"You are not together"
It wasnt a quiestion, it was a conclusion.
Layla and Ty looked at eachother and both blushed.
Ty smiled a bit.
"Umm.. No.. Not really..."
Layla panicked.
She didnt want to spend the whole night in that tent again.
"We'll take it!"
Both the receptionist and Ty looked at her with a confused look.
"W-what I meant was... Umm... That its.. its really dark outside... And.. Umm... its cold too.. sooo.... We could stay here one night and maybe try to find something else tomorrow?"
Layla immediately regretted that she had even opened her mouth.
Both the receptionist and Ty looked a bit confused.
She looked at Ty with eyes that begged "Please?"
Ty quickly made up hid mind.
"Okey, we take it"
Layla smiled and whispered:
"Thank you..."
Ty smiled too.
"I remeber you said something about the tent was a little bit uncomforteble..."
"Yeah" she laughed " My back still hurts"
"I can sleep on the floor if you want?"
"Nooo.. dont do that. The bed is for both of us" Layla said "Just dont try to do anything..."
Ty laughed.
"Thanks.. I promise I wont do anything"
"Promise?"
"Promise"

Dream On Layla, part 4

Precious Time

They were running fast on the highway, when Ty finally slowed down.
"Time to set up the tent."
Layla got off the bike, streched her arms and yawned.
"Yeah.. Im pretty tired..."
Ty started to set up the tent.

Few minutes later the tent was up and they could go to bed.

"Why are you running?" Ty asked. "You dont have to answear that... Im just curious..."
Layla looked at him and smiled a bit.
"I couldnt stand my mom... She was..... Ummm..Too much.."
A tear ran down her cheek, but she quickly dried it off.
"Oh, Im sorry... I wont bring it up again!" said Ty as he moved a little closer.
Layla tried to smile, but failed.
"Why dont you tell me something about you?"
Ty smiled a warm smile.
"Well.. to tell the truth I there's not that much to tell... But I can say that I grew up in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
I was ten when my parents seperated, and my mom decided to move to Denver, Colorado.
I went to school like any other kid and my mom had everything figured out with my life.
She wanted me to go to college, graduate, and become a doctor.
But I had other plans... I wanted to see the world... New places.
So I decided to run away.
You see... My mom was a control freak.
Just like you, I could not agree to all her demands. So I ran away, and I havent looked back ever since.
And now Im in the tent with you..."
He smiled. You could see in his eyes that he don't regret picking up Layla.
"I know you probably dont want to talk about it..." Ty started "But I dont know anything about you either..."
Layla laughed.
"Okey... So.. I grew here in Norfolk, Virginia, and me and my parnets were just like everybody else. I went to school, my parents worked... You know, typical american family life? Yeah.. So when I turned 12 my parents had a huge fight about something I cant remember... I think it was about money.."
Ty looked at her with a painful smile, he knew exactly how she must have felt.
"My dad left me and mom.. and..."
She started to sob.
"Im sorry... I just..."
She could no longer withhold the tears.
Ty did his best to comfort her and after a while she calmed down.
"Im so sorry about that.."
"Hey, dont worry about it, its ok"
Layla smiled.
"Thanks for being so nice to me..I guess Im just not used to it..."
Ty laughed.
"Im the one to say thanks! I have been lonley for about two years now.. Thank you for being here with me"
They talked the whole night, but finally fell asleep when they figured they wouldnt be able to go anywhere the next moring if they where tired.

The next morning Layla woke up with a smile on her lips.
She had dreamed of herself and Ty flying though the wind toghether on his motorcycle.
They never stoped to refuel, just kept on going.
She opened her eyes and turned to the side where Ty had been, but he was gone.

Dream On Layla, part 3

Dreams coming true

"Umm..." Layla didnt know what to say.
She was like under hypnose, she couldnt help starring at the stranger.
He was so... Beautiful? In a strange way.
Before her a young man stood, maybe 18 years old. He had blue playfull eyes, darkbrown hair and a beutiful face.
He was a taller than her, and normal sized.
He smiled and his perfect teeth showed.
She just starred.

Layla was a 17 year old girl, and she had chocolate brown eyes, beautiful rose red lips and light brown hair.
But she knew she would never be good enough for him.

He laughed.
"Well?"
Layla got back to reality.
"Umm.. I'm not supposed to talk with strangers..."
"Okey... You see it that way?"
He laughed again and extended his hand to her and said:
"I'm Ty Adams"
Layla grabbed his hand.
"And I'm Layla Wright"
Ty smiled at her.
"Now we're not strangers anymore"
She laughed.
"Thats right"
Ty looked at her.
"Soo.... What about that ride?"
Layla was about to say "Thanks but no thank you.." when a voice in her head whispered:
What are you doing? You wanted adventures, right?
Layla nodded to herself.
"Sure!"
"You can take my helmet"
She nodded.
"Where are you heading by the way?"
"Oh, I'm going everywhere. Right now I'm heading for San Fransico to see my uncle. I just stoped by here in Norfolk, Viginia to refuel."
"Perfect!"
He gave her his helmet and they were off.

Layla had allways dreamed about this.
Ever since she was little, she had dreamed about adventures.
She knew nothing about him, and what this juney would bring her, but a feeling inside her said "This is right..."

Dream On Layla, part 2

To do or not to do?

Layla walked over to her closet and opened the doors.
She had to do it.
She had no other choice.
She started to throw clothes on her bed.
"This go, and this.... and this..."
She continued.
Then she started packing.
She thought of nothing but the plan.
She would leave at night, when her mom was asleep.
Layla looked up, and there, on the shelf, was a picture of two happy women.
The younger one was a perfect copy of the older one.
It was a picture of Layla and her mom.
Layla took down the picture and starred at it.
Then closed her eyes, and threw it into the wall.
Fragments of glass flew at all directions, and hit Layla in her face, but she didn't care.
She was broken already, so pieces of glass couldn't do her any harm.

The pain Layla had learned to live with everyday had soon come to pass.
She felt nothing.
She was a dead alive.
Asleep but awake.
A ghost in her own home.
Her mom beat her up every night in five years.
When her dad left, her mom was a wreck.
She started to drink, alot, and the drinking became her life.

It was 1 am when Layla climbed out the window.
She laughed.
It feels like being in a movie... she thought while climbing down.
When she got down she started to run.
And she didnt stop untill she was sure she was safely hidden in the woods.
She then stepped out of the woods and started to walk beside the street.

Layla kept on walking, when suddenly a motorcycle passed her by.
The bike stoped.
But she didnt care, just kept on walking.
Then the guy on the bike jumped off.
He took of his helmet and shook his head.
Layla stopped and starred.
She couldnt take her eyes off him.
He smiled.
"Need a ride?"

Dream On Layla, part 1

Tänkte härma lilla joy lite grann o skriva en berättelse på engelska :)
Så här är del ett, eller kapitel ett ;)

The end of beginning...

”Layla, can you come over here?” said Claire Wright with a sharp voice.
Layla stoped in her action and looked over at her mom.
”Yeah, yeah, yeah...”
Layla walked over with a defient look in her eyes and put a hand on her waist.
”What?” she asked with attitude, clearly enoyed.
”What is this?”
Mrs Wright looked dissappionted at her daughter.
”Is this how you show me your doing everything in school?”
Layla looked at the paper her mom held in her hand.
”So what?” Layla screamed.” You never cared before!”
The grades in mrs Wrights hand showed nothing but failure.
Her daughter, Layla Wright, was a clear dissapiontment, a shame of the rest of the family.
”What am I supposed to do? Life sucks!”
Layla turned around and ran into her room and slammed the door.
”Don’t you turn you back on me young lady!” her mom screamed while running after.
But she was to late.
Layla had already locked the door.
”Open the stupid door!” her mom yelled while hammering on the door.
”Leave me alone!” Layla screamed with her eyes filled with tears.
Layla sat down on her bed with her knees pulled up to her chin and her arms locked around them, while tears streaming down her cheaks.
She tried to lock out the things that could hurt her.
She tried to think of happy moments in her life, but couldnt find anything to hold on to.

It wasnt allways like this.
Life was easier.
Life was easier when her dad was around.
When her mom was happy, and not drunk all the time.
But her dad had left five years ago.
And left nothing but a broken family behind.
Her mom was a drunk, they lived in a pigsty, and Layla wanted nothing more than to flee.
Just run away, and leave everything behind.

This is where her jurney starts.
